Math 24 Challenge is a student competition for grades 4-8. School districts and students must be part of the Greater Dane County Advanced Learners Network to participate. The tournaments are based on five versions of the Math 24 card games produced by Suntex. You can order cards from eNasco. See product numbers from eNasco here. Working with the games fosters basic facts, mental math, problem-solving, and patterning.
4th- Double Digits
5th- Variables
6th- Positive/Negative Integers
7th- Fractions/Decimals
8th- Algebra/Exponents
AWARDS
Individual trophies are awarded to students for 1st through 6th place. Ribbons are awarded to the highest-scoring student from each district.
You must provide a proctor for every team your district is registered for. For the 4th and 5th-grade tournaments, a proctor can be a responsible 7th or 8th-grade student. For the 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade tournaments, we recommend responsible high school students who have participated in Math 24. The rules for proctors are linked below.
Each participating district provides a Room Facilitator. Duties include:
Start the tournament once all students and proctors arrive. Read the rule sheet. Run the database following the provided data entry and table rotation instructions. Distribute awards. See full Room Facilitator To-Do List HERE
